Dr. Sheer is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, and has been practicing orthodontics for over twenty years. He received his specialty training at the prestigious Columbia University in New York City, is a Board Certified specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and he has achieved the highest honor by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. His Doctor of Dental Surgery degree was received from the University of Maryland Dental School.
He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Mid-Atlantic Society of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. He is currently the Program Director for Health Volunteers Overseas in Cambodia.
Dr. Sheer has always had an interest in helping and teaching others around the world. He not only has a goal of creating beautiful smiles for the patients that he treats locally, he also works hard to bring those same beautiful smiles for the many children and adults he has had the pleasure of caring for in many developing countries. Through Operation Smile or Health Volunteers Overseas, whether it has been in the Philippines, China, Bhutan, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cambodia or Tanzania, Dr. Sheer has a personal mission to try and make life a little better for those people that have not had the opportunities or access to proper treatment and care.
Dr. Sheer also enjoys traveling, sports, art and music, and his time at the unique and beautiful Chautauqua Institution in upstate New York (ciweb.org).
